After months of speculation, the NRL is officially set to sign off on its record-breaking TV rights deal.
According to News Corp, the competition has reportedly agreed to a seven-year deal with incumbents Nine and Foxtel paying $5.3 billion dollars to retain the rights.
This will see the competition earn more than $750 million per season, which sees the NRL surpass the AFL's TV rights deal ($4.5 billion over seven years) signed back in 2022.
As a result, this will largely see a continuation of the existing deals, with Nine set to retain State of Origin on their network.
The new deal will conclude in 2034.
