England Test coach contacts Aussie legend over potential coaching role

Less than a week after he was given the keys to the Test team, England red ball coach Stephen Fleming has made a play for Michael Hussey to join his coaching staff.
It's understood Fleming contacted Mr Cricket himself, asking if he would have any interest becoming the team's batting coach.
While there was no formal offer from the England and Wales Cricket Board, there's little doubt Fleming's first choice batting consultant is the West-Australian born Hussey.
The 51-year-old is currently coaching Welsh Fire in The Hundred and has not made a call on his availability to pursue the role under Fleming.
If Hussey ends up England's batting coach, it would lead to a remarkable Ashes reunion 14 years after he last represented Australia.
It was at Chennai in the first ever IPL where Fleming and Hussey first played together.
Later, Fleming was the coach and Hussey the franchise's star player then assistant coach, with the pair spending 15 years together.
Former New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming won't take charge until England's three-Test tour of South Africa in December.
England's batting coach during the Ashes, Marcus Trescothick will fill in as interim coach for the three-Test series against Pakistan, beginning at Headingley on August 19.
Australian bowling coach David Saker will remain in the role with the English team for the series v Pakistan.
South African sources believe Fleming will target Eric Simmons to eventually replace Saker. The duo have also worked together at Chennai Super Kings in the IPL.
