Bellamy makes decision on coaching future

Craig Bellamy is set to remain as Melbourne Storm coach for at least another season, confirming he'll coach on in 2027.

After signing a two-year deal at the start of 2026, taking him through to 2028, the future of the 66-year-old has been highly speculated after being diagnosed with a neurodegenerative disorder in April.

But speaking with reporters ahead of their clash against Manly in Perth, the three-time premiership coach confirmed he would remain in the role for next season.

However, he did acknowledge that he may not see his current deal through to the end.

“I’ll be coaching next year, but yeah, I think that might be the end,” he said.

“But anyway, we’ll see what happens.”

The Storm are on track to miss finals for the first time since 2010 with the club sitting 12th on the ladder.

2027 will mark Bellamy's 25th season as the club's head coach.
