David Taggart & Cam Luke have your Wednesday sorted on Trackside.

The lads have taken a close look at Bendigo & Canterbury in a bid to find the family some winners.

BENDIGO

Race 5 | 15. Invisible Magic

She has to make up a couple of lengths on the fave but I thought she ran really well through the line and clearly the seven furlongs is her main three wood. She might not be as far back today from that nice gate, she is really well weighted and the fave is way too short considering the extra weight and distance (little query) which suits Invisible Magic. Both go into the early quaddie but I like this girl to run really.

Race 6 | 8. Written Glow

I backed this girl in her Australian debut and nothing went right, not the speed map (three wide) not the vet report, absolutely zero but Blake Shinn is on today and that gives me a bucket load of confidence. She has jumped out really well since which makes me think that previous race was an aberration. Today from a really good gate she can posi up well and be hard to beat. The heavy track always a concern but she's a Kiwi so she'll probably enjoy it but what I do know is she has a bunch of class and will be hard to beat.

Race 8 | 7. Zorro's Flight

Last start in a tougher race there was a couple of times where he was momentum was stalled and it made the losing margin way worse. The step down back to the 1600m is a plus as is the heavy slop which he loves. That barrier allows him to stay outside horses but probably drop 1-1 or three pairs back and I think that will work for this bloke in the straight. He is fit having a really good prep and rarely runs a bad race. He is my best of the day at Bendigo.

CANTERBURY

Race 2 | 2. Cantero

Much better gate today so I'm hoping this bloke can be a little closer in the run albeit he was really good on debut when he got a long way out of his ground. The extra 50m is clearly an advantage and he chased home a promising horse that has a bucket load of talent last start. Only him and Affari can win the race and I like the progressiveness and the race day experience helping this bloke race to race hence I'm leaning that way.

Race 4 | 4. Cafe Au Lait

Perfectly drawn with JMac in the seat (also rode her in her trials) this horse won't do an inch of work in the run. Has trialled up really well and has very decent 1st up form. Forget her last run before being tipped out as she had got to the end of her prep. I focus on the previous two runs in better class than this that were really good. She has been on the heavy once and handled it OK and I think this setup makes her very hard to beat. She is my best of the day in Sydney.

Race 5 | 7. Komodo Dragon

It makes me very nervous to tip a horse who has barely run in the last two years but he does get a nice set up today. Has trialled up really well, goes well first up and his only run in the Summer was a good one in a hot field. ZL is flying and takes the ride. If he is right to go and I assume he is, he'll find his bets from and be hard to run down after being on speed from that gate. I think the fave Phantom Major is probably the best horse in the race after his nice maiden win (form franked with runner up) but it's a big step up and the HT is always a Q early in a career.

BENDIGO

Race 4 | 11. Saint Fox

Should have finished closer on debut and he will only improve from that run. Steps up in trip and is clearly the one.y the one they have to beat.

CANTERBURY

Race 2 | 10. Affari

Was good first up after having the run of the race and she will get that again here for JMac. She’s been on a heavy track once and was never disgraced in a listed race. She’s should be going close.

Race 6 | 1. Ruination

Looks the class horse as he returns as a gelding. Has looked good at the trials given every indication he’s ready to fire first up. Gets a 3 kilo claim for Stanley and he’s going to be very hard to beat.
