SEG and NFL to showcase Flag Football at Marvel Stadium

Sports Entertainment Group (SEG), in partnership with the NFL, will showcase the rapid growth of flag football in Australia with a special exhibition match at Marvel Stadium ahead of tonight's Four'N Twenty Legends Game for Prostate Cancer.

As a supporting partner of the Four'N Twenty Legends Game for Prostate Cancer, the NFL is bringing flag football to one of Australia's premier sporting venues for the first time ever as part of its continued commitment to growing the sport ahead of the NFL's historic regular season game in Melbourne next month.

The NFL Flag exhibition match will feature Australian men's national flag football representatives alongside some of Australia's best-known sporting personalities, including AFL, NRL and netball stars, in a showcase representing the 'San Francisco 49ers' and 'Los Angeles Rams'.

The exhibition match comes as excitement builds toward the NFL's historic first-ever regular season game in Melbourne between the 49ers and Rams on September 11, and highlights the continued growth of flag football across the country.

Flag football is played by more than 20 million people in more than 100 countries and will make its debut in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games program. In Australia, the NFL’s national flag competition has expanded to more than 500 schools and over 100,000 students participating in state, national and international flag football tournaments.

The match will be played over two 10-minute halves immediately prior to the Four'N Twenty Legends Game for Prostate Cancer, offering fans a unique opportunity to experience one of the world's fastest-growing sports.

It will also be broadcast live on 7plus from 5.30pm AEST, before becoming available on-demand. Coverage will feature Seven’s NFL Tailgate host, Cam Luke, calling the action, Kodie Fuller – the NFL’s Global Flag Ambassador - providing special comments, and SEN’s own NFL expert, Jordan Kounelis hosting the broadcast.

SEG Chief Executive, Craig Hutchison, said the event is a unique opportunity to introduce more Australians to flag football.
