Marnus survives: Aussies reveal South Africa Test squad

Australia have revealed a 16-man Test squad for the upcoming tour to South Africa.

The Aussies have retained all 11 players who featured in the recent Test match victory against Bangladesh in Mackay. Jake Weatherald, who played the first Test before being dropped, hasn’t returned to the squad.

Cooper Connolly, Matthew Kuhnemann and Michael Neser are the additions to the squad, while Scott Boland was also selected.

The biggest selection talking point in the lead-up was that of Marnus Labuschagne, with the No. 3 failing to make a Test century since 2023.

The South African-born Queenslander will be pleased to retain his position, particularly as this is the first time Australia have played a Test series in South Africa since the infamous 2018 ball-tampering saga.
