Race 2 #11 Better Late

Scratched from the midweeks, this lightly raced gelding gets another suitable opportunity in a winnable midway. He produced a clear career peak last start, leading at a solid gallop before proving too strong for his rivals late.

The form has since received a boost, with runner-up Grinzinger Pod winning the same grade at Wyong last Friday. Fourth-placed Cyrptoinc also performed well at its next start, finishing second at Hawkesbury on Saturday.

With the rail out 5m and conditions expected to be dry, Tim Clark should be able to settle him on speed from barrier 4 and give him every chance to finish strongly.

Race 10 #10 Ruination

Ruination is a progressive galloper who was too good first up with apprentice William Stanley aboard. Tommy Berry takes over this time, and from the soft draw he looks capable of settling in the top four.

Carrying just 54kg, he should get every opportunity to use his turn of foot against the likes of Sovereign Hill and Eagle Express.

We're yet to see his ceiling, and this preparation could see him continue to progress through the grades.
