Wharfie Time receives all clear for AFL Grand Final

It's official.

The AFL has officially granted Fremantle permission to play Wharfie Time during the 2026 AFL Grand Final.

As SEN's Tom Morris has reported, the AFL has allowed the Dockers' beloved tradition during the big dance, with three stipulations attached.

"Wharfie Time is on this Saturday on Grand Final day for the Fremantle Dockers," Morris told 7news.

"I have the parameters here:

1. The Dockers can only play it once.
2. It can only be played after a goal.
3. Both teams have goal songs - Wharfie Time just counts as one of them for the Fremantle Dockers.

"This will be music to the ears of the Purple Army travelling across the country ahead of Saturday's Grand Final."

Huge news for the Fremantle faithful ahead of their first Grand Final since 2013.
