MORNINGTON

Race 3 | 4. Verdoux

I was on him when he won first up last prep at Caulfield. Has had two soft trials leading into this and will find this easier than most of last prep. First up form is very good but will need some luck from an awkward draw.

Race 4 | 7. Tres Magnifique

Was a beaten fav first up and he should go one better here. Draws pole and will get the right run throughout with the fast pace being on from the get go.

ROSEHILL

Race 5 | 1. Mr Chaplin (Value)

Resumes and is in his second Australian prep. He did win first up in an easier race to this last prep and he also gets conditions to suit. Draws pole and will get the gun run throughout, he’s a great ew play.

Race 7 | 1. Lazzura

Despite being beaten first up as the fav she never disgraced herself. She’s a better horse second up winning 3/5 and is suited more to this trip splitting Beiwacht and Jimmysstar in a G1 the last time she went over it. Will be run solid enough for Mac to bide his time and have last crack at them.

Race 8 | 1. Guest House

Came back in good order after winning the Slipper to run a track record first up. First time at the trip is obviously the main concern as he can over race at times. Just have to trust that he’s the best 3yo going around atm.

Race 10 | 2. Kimberley Secrets (Each-way)

Just can’t seem to win a race atm but she’s never far away. She comes in well here again after the claim and from pole will get the perfect run in transit. She’s a huge chance at an ew price.

Damian Watson

ROSEHILL

Race 2 | 8. Zou Force

Gets a good draw and is lightly raced. Won first up over 1200m and then finished fourth on this track from a wide gate.

Race 8 | 5. St Gotthard

Has the ability to overcome an awkward gate. Finished a tough second in the Run To The Rose and will come on strongly from that run.

Race 10 | 2. Kimberley Secrets

Has a good draw plus 3kg claim. Finished well last start first up over the 1200m to finish second.
