Parker praises 'incredible' Nawaqanitawase after dominant win

Corey Parker has praised Mark Nawaqanitawase following his incredible showing to help Sydney through to yet another Grand Final.

The Roosters are through to their ninth Grand Final this century with a 36-20 victory over the Dolphins at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night.

And the 26-year-old played a starring role in their win having racked up 342 run metres whilst getting on the scoreboard with two tries of his own.

Since joining the Roosters in 2024, the cross-code star has been quite the revelation, becoming one of the competition’s best players.

In his 46 appearances for the Tricolours so far, Nawaqanitawase has scored 45 tries whilst averaging 153 run metres throughout his career.

Reflecting on his performance, the Broncos legend believes the NRL world will miss Nawaqanitawase when he departs at the conclusion of the season as he returns to Rugby Union with Saitama Wild Knights.

“Speaking of incredible, 28 runs, (342) run metres, one offload, four tackle busts (and) two tries,” Parker said on SENQ Breakfast.

“And this man is going over to play rugby. Oh boy, aren't we going to miss him.”

Nawaqanitawase will play his last game for the Roosters in the foreseeable future on Sunday as the Roosters face Newcastle in the 2026 NRL Grand Final at Accor Stadium.
