Trade Live: Dees skipper hopeful of landing out-of-contract Hawk

Trade Radio 2026 is officially underway!

SEN's Sam Edmund and Kane Cornes kick us off from 7-9am, followed by Tom Morris and Tom Mitchell from 9-11am.

AFL Media’s Gettable with Cal Twomey and Riley Beveridge take over from 12-1pm.

Melbourne captain Max Gawn would love Calsher Dear to join him at the Demons.

The emerging Hawthorn key forward is assessing his options for the future and the Dees are firmly on the radar.

Gawn said on SEN that he has met with Dear and is hopeful he'll choose the red and the blue amid interest from other clubs including Carlton, Collingwood, Geelong and St Kilda.

“I have met Calsher Dear at some point,” Gawn said on SEN’s Dwayne’s World.

“He seems like a great fella and hopefully he wants to play at the Dees.”

Dear, 21, is out of contract with the Hawks after 31 games and 39 goals across three seasons in brown and gold.
