Jimmysstar will run in The Everest.

Owner Ozzie Kheir has confirmed that the Ciaron Maher-trained sprinter will go up against Ka Ying Rising and Tempted in this year’s edition of the $20 million slot race.

Jimmysstar was an impressive winner of the Group 1 Manikato Stakes at Caulfield on September 27 and now they’ll press on to the richest turf race in the world.

Nash Rawiller will take the ride on Jimmysstar for the first time.

“Jimmysstar will take his place in the 2026 Everest and will have Nash Rawiller aboard,” Kheir confirmed to SENTrack & RSN's Gareth Hall.

“Contracts with our slot holder are being finalised at the moment and are expected to be executed with in the next 24 hours.

“Although we are racing against two standouts and many other worthy participants, we feel Jimmy having been a last-start Group 1 winner needs to be present in the richest sprint in Australia.”

Jimmysstar is a four-time Group 1 winner who ran third to Ka Ying Rising and Tempted in last year’s Everest.

It appears likely that Jimmysstar will race in TAB's Everest slot, but that is still to be confirmed.

Jimmysstar is equal third favourite at $15 with Bet365, behind Ka Ying rising ($1.36) and Tempted ($6).
