Cam Luke

MORNINGTON

Race 2 | 3. Strong Box

Way easier race for this bloke than last start where you hit the line really well, gets the heavier weight but it's way easier. He is drawn smidge better as well so his speed map is a little better than that race. He didn’t have a huge amount of luck in town in a better race ending last prep either. GT works for him and I think he will be too good. Belle Cinque is the danger off a freshen and the nice gate and she will go into the early quaddie but I think SB will be too good!

Race 4 | 7. Boy From Zadar

The market is gravitating towards a couple of the debutantes but I like this horse with race experience and has actually been pretty decent two runs this prep. I always like when a horse has back to back 1200 metre runs early in a career and this is the setup that works for him today. He will have a similar run to last start and he was great late. Might try and squeeze forward as I can't see massive speed (Mo and Gigi go fwd) and he might sit 1-1 today. This is easier than last start and I expect him to run really well!

GOSFORD

Race 1 | 6. Legaselli

This girl drops back from the 2000 to the more suitable 1600 and draws the gate with the claim to be able to control the race. She's a big rangy filly so I'd never rule out 2000 going forward but right now the mile seems her distance. Don't think she'll have a huge amount of pressure and being on the good track and dictating I think she'll be very hard to beat.

Race 3 | 8. Rosie Rouge

Has been on the sideline for a long time but the fact that this stable still has her makes me think she's got a bucket load of talent. They went too hard on debut and she knocked up late but the race was won by King of Pop/ Savvie Hallie ran 2nd and it involved Burma star Napoleonic and a bunch of other good horses. She has trialled up a bunch since then and whatever issues she has had the market believes she will be good enough here! She will go control it from that gate and be hard to beat! Tickelova goes into the EQ as safety. Was pretty good resuming over 900 and was strong through the line and will sit OSL RR.

Race 5 | 6. Almaaz (each-way)

This girl wasn't too bad resuming but she traditionally can be a little bit better second up and there is no doubt she's looking for the mile. She did just grind as a drifter in that race but it had more depth than this and she was pretty good through the line. She normally runs fairly well and when she got up in trip last prep she was on the back of Decalogue and Fireball Miss who are both G1 horses. Fairly open race with a number of chances but this girl is over the odds and a great each way play at $14.00.

Race 7 | 6. Speedy Henry

The short priced favourite (Peleus) ticks many boxes and will be hard to beat but I can't take that price when this bloke always runs well many times in better races, and is drawn perfectly to have run of the race by box seating. He always runs well fresh and has trialled up well in readiness. Enjoys a GT but any rain and a chopped track would aid him more than the fave. Fave back in trip will improve from the 1st up run and will be hard to beat but this bloke can beat him!

GOSFORD

Race 4 | 5. Regal Profit
Race 5 | 4. Markos Port
