There have been some rumours flying around surrounding St Kilda and a pair of players in very recent times.
The speculation is that the Saints are interested in Jamarra Ugle-Hagan and Bobby Hill.
But SEN’s Sam Edmund insists the Saints are not looking at the currently unsigned Gold Coast forward or the delisted Collingwood small forward.
“How’s the rumours? They come through here and have been for days and days,” Edmund said one SEN Breakfast.
“I’ve seen them and I’ve read them. On Twitter it has taken off with some accounts that are not owned by credible news outlets, but have proven themselves over time to be chief whisperers.
“No rumour has been hotter over the last couple of weeks that Jamarra Ugle-Hagan could end up at St Kilda.
“The rumours are that they’ve got Jake Stringer, prepare for Jamarra to arrive. I’ve even seen Bobby Hill mentioned as well, they’re going to take all three.
“What I can tell you is the players have been talking among themselves and I think this is where a lot of the rumours have started.
“In fact, Jamarra Ugle-Hagan and Bobby Hill recently did some socialising down Warrnambool way where I think some things were exchanged and there was a bit of ‘shizen’ talked and all the rest of it.”
Edmund says the Saints have touched base with the Suns to assure them they are not keen on the former Western Bulldog.
“The bottom line is St Kilda have told Gold Coast they’ve got no interest in Jamarra. But the question had been asked, clearly, between the two clubs, and they’d been aware of the rumours like we had,” Edmund added.
“St Kilda have told Gold Coast that rest assured we’ve got no interest in Jamarra. And to the best of my knowledge Jamarra doesn’t have any interest in even trying to continue his career at St Kilda.
“So we can put a line through Jamarra to Moorabbin.
“I still think he will be re-signed for next year at a time when the Gold Coast deem it fitting.
“Then there’s Bobby who I don’t think was ever really on the agenda at St Kilda. I’m less sure on him, I’m more sure on Jamarra.
“That had gathered absolute steam.”
As for Norm Smith Medallist Hill, there had been suggestions that West Coast were showing interest.
But Kane Cornes, who was in Western Australia recently, believes the Eagles will take that interest no further.
“That’s not happening. Your report is accurate that they looked at it and reached out,” Cornes said.
“But I’ve been told they’d like to see him play at a lower level to show the commitment required.
“No club in their right mind… particularly West Coast who are very much doing it the right way by rebuilding from the draft and adding great characters.
“The last thing you need as the Eagles is taking a risk on Bobby Hill.”
