Anneli Maley marked her season debut with a 21-point, 14-rebound double-double as the Perth Lynx beat Adelaide 90–82.

Back with the Lynx after her WNBA season with the New York Liberty, Maley also had four assists and two steals.

Coach Ryan Petrik praised her work rate.

“I don’t think I’ve ever met a player that works harder on the court every second she’s out there. That’s really underrated because it’s not as common as you think,” Petrik said. Both teams found their range from beyond the arc early. Perth led 26–17 after the first quarter and stayed in front at half-time.

Adelaide outscored the Lynx 26–18 in the third to take a one-point lead into the final term.

Zitina Aokuso had 20 points and 11 rebounds for the Lightning.

Perth scored 31 points in the fourth to Adelaide’s 22 to secure the win.

Teonni Key added 22 points and nine rebounds, while Georgia Amoore had 12 points and nine assists.

The victory takes Perth to 2–0. The Lynx next travel to Townsville to face the Fire on Tuesday, November 3.
