McClure provides explosive Crows camp update

2018-08-27T18:15+10:00

SEN Time On host Sam McClure has revealed explosive new details surrounding the Adelaide Crows controversial pre-season camp, ran by Collective Mind.

“The timeline of the player dismay and ultimate revolt at the camp has become clearer, and the crisis and mismanagement of this camp has been plunged into depths we previously didn’t think possible,” McClure told SEN’s Time On.

“Adelaide players, after meeting at Taylor Walker’s house prior to Round 5, told coach Don Pyke and head of football Brett Burton, they wanted no further contact with Collective Mind.

“The feeling of relief among the players was then palpable after they moved to end the program.

“It resulted in a form spike. They beat Sydney at the SCG that weekend and went on to win four of their next five, and get their season back on track.

“Despite getting to 6-3, after the Round 9 win over the Western Bulldogs, Don Pyke still wasn’t happy and he reinstated Collective Mind without canvassing for full player support.

“Suddenly, the mood changed.

“That same feeling of stress and anxiety that emanated from the camp returned.

“The Collective Mind program came back and Adelaide starting losing again.

“That weekend, they went to Alice Springs in Round 10, and they were thrashed by Melbourne to the tune of 91-points.

“They then lost four in a row and their season was in tatters.

“Following a 56-point loss to Hawthorn in Round 13, the club then publicly acted, sacking Collective Mind for the second time, this time publicly, on the Saturday of Round 14.

“Yet still, as we saw from the disgraceful press conference held by Collective Mind today, we are told, there is nothing to see here.”
