Report: Saints have been in touch with Choco Williams

2018-08-31T09:46+10:00

St Kilda has been in touch with 2004 premiership coach Mark Williams, as the embattled Saints continue their offseason of change.

It was announced yesterday Brett Ratten will join Alan Richardson’s re-jigged coaching staff. He joins Brendon Lade, while Adam Kingsley, Lindsay Gilbee, Rohan Welsh and Simon McPhee have departed the club.

“We can confirm, I’m being told from our news people, that St Kilda has been in touch with Mark Williams recently…there’s another piece to the puzzle,” Garry Lyon told SEN Breakfast.

Williams coached 274 games for the Power between 1999-2010, winning 151 matches.

Earlier this week, former Essendon captain Tim Watson mentioned a link between Williams and in-demand GWS midfielder Dylan Shiel.

St Kilda has also made off-field changes, with Andrew Bassat set to replace Peter Summers as President.
