Tigers are beatable declares Magpies midfielder Adams

Collingwood is ready to knock off the reigning premiers in Friday’s Preliminary Final, as Taylor Adams declares Richmond is beatable.

The Magpies enter the clash as underdogs, but Adams isn’t buying into that theory, saying they wouldn’t be here if they didn’t have self-belief.

“I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t think they were beatable,” he told SEN’s Time On.

“I wouldn’t bother rocking up. I’m really confident in our footy, I’m really confident in our best footy, that it is as good as anyone’s.

“I’m really confident in what we have built over the last couple years and in more recent times the last 12 months.

“The feel at our footy club is more than what you guys see on game day.

“We show genuine love and care and support for each other throughout the week.

“We have for a number of weeks now and it’s starting to emulate out on the footy field.”

However, in terms of preparing for the game, Adams is trying to treat it as just another week.

“My mentality is it is Round 26,” he said.

“I feel like it’s worked for us most of the year, just next game, move onto the next game.

“The whole of last week was unreal, the build up to the game, playing against my old side, running out to training in front of 1,000 people, walking down the street to get a coffee and people saying good luck, that sort of thing has been awesome, and this week is going to go to another level.

“You got to be able to, as a young playing group, adjust to that and it’s part of playing finals footy.

“We are all very excited for it.”
