Back for another year, the SEN.com.au team gives you an insight into how every game will play out across the weekend.

Labelling something a ‘certainty’ in any sport is fraught with danger.

But we’ll attempt to find some anyway.

Here is what we consider certainties for the Round 10 Friday night clash between Sydney and Carlton.

Sydney

Heeney, Warner & Gulden to combine for 75+ disposals and 2+ goals

Isaac Heeney, Chad Warner and Errol Gulden have been in devastating form this season.

The Swans trio have combined for 693 disposals (at an average of 77) across nine games so far, while kicking 32 goals (at an average of 3.5) between them.

Across four games at the SCG in 2024, Heeney, Warner and Gulden average 79 touches and three goals and we’re with them to again have an impact against Carlton on Friday night.

The midfield triumvirate should be combining for at least 75 disposals while kicking at least two goals between them when the Blues come to town in Round 10.

Grundy to have 25+ hit-outs, 15+ disposals, 3+ clearances

Brodie Grundy has been in solid form in his first year at the Swans.

The All-Australian ruckman is averaging 29.2 hit-outs, 18.6 disposals and 5 clearances in the red and white.

While he’ll have his work cut out for him up against Carlton pair Marc Pittonet and Tom De Koning, the former Magpie and Demon should still have an impact.

Grundy averages 38.4 hit-outs, 20.8 touches and 6.4 clearances in nine career games at the SCG.

We feel he’ll win at least 25 hit-outs, while picking up 15 or more disposals and having three or more clearances.

Carlton

Walsh to have 30+ disposals

Sydney have tended to put more work into Patrick Cripps in recent years, with Sam Walsh picking up 60 disposals across two games against them last year.

Walsh has been in red-hot form since returning to the side in Round 5, averaging 33.4 disposals per game across the last five weeks.

On the tight confines of the SCG, he should find plenty of the footy and we are with him to rack up 30 once again.

It could be a big night for the Blues mid.

Kennedy to have 20+ disposals

There's a fair chance Matt Kennedy tags Isaac Heeney tonight, meaning he will be around the footy all night.

He has passed 20 touches in every game this season (outside of being the sub) and with Adam Cerra out of the side, he will have a larger role to play.

It is a big test for Kennedy and we are confident he will have a fair say in this massive Friday night fixture.
