Who will be the top 12 players in the AFL this time next year?

SEN’s Dwayne Russell has forecast his elite dozen based on who he feels will be the most influential players in the competition.

See Russell’s list below:

1 - Nick Daicos (Collingwood)

“He will be the No.1 player in the comp this time next year,” he said on SEN’s Dwayne’s World.

2 - Charlie Curnow (Carlton)

“I reckon he’ll have a big finals series.

“He might play some big finals and if Carlton win the flag off the back of a Charlie Curnow finals series, then I think he’ll be No.2 in the comp next year.

“I’m going out on a limb and backing Charlie to have a big finals series.”

3 - Marcus Bontempelli (Western Bulldogs)

4 - Patrick Cripps (Carlton)

5 - Jeremy Cameron (Geelong)

“I still think ‘The Bont’, Cripps and Jeremy Cameron will be impactful next year.

“That’s a pretty regulation top five.”

6 - Chad Warner (Sydney)

7 - Errol Gulden (Sydney)

“Then Warner and Gulden at 6 and 7.

“It’s hard not to put Nick Blakey or Isaac Heeney in there but I’ve already got two Swans so I’ve got leave those two out.”

8 - Harry Sheezel (North Melbourne)

9 - Zach Merrett (Essendon)

10 - Zak Butters (Port Adelaide)

11 - Izak Rankine (Adelaide)

12 - Luke Jackson (Fremantle)

“I wanted to put a key position guy in there and I’m putting Luke Jackson in ahead of Sam Darcy.

“I’m thinking Sam Darcy could have a big year but Jackson is a year advanced on where Darcy is at.”
