Even on the final day of the 2024 State of Origin series, NSW and Queensland greats are still accusing the opposing side of cheap shots in order to gain the slightest tactical advantage.

On the eve of Game III at Suncorp Stadium, Channel Nine football reporter Danny Weidler claimed that a rift had developed between Queensland Maroons winger Selwyn Cobbo and coach Billy Slater.

Slater rubbished the report as “fake news” and claimed that the “accountability to report the truth wasn’t there” when asked about Weidler’s claim.

Queensland legend and SEN’s Scott Sattler believes it is another case of NSW media trying to divert attention away from the Blues squad ahead of the decider.
