The three stars that Dwayne Russell believes became All-Australian locks after Round 20

SEN host Dwayne Russell has named the three players that he feels locked themselves into All-Australian honours with big Round 20 performances.

While some players have no doubt already done enough to win a blazer, Russell thinks that Adam Treloar, Harry Sheezel and Nick Daicos are now locks in the team.

Although he already felt Daicos was sure to be an All-Australian for the second-straight season, he is now 100 per cent certain he’ll receive the honour after his 42-disposal, 11-clearance performance in the 26-point win over Richmond.

The other two names that have never been All-Australian before that Russell thinks will now feature in the side for the first time in their careers are Treloar and Sheezel.

Treloar – the AFL’s disposals per game leader – had 40 touches in the upset win over Sydney at the SCG while Sheezel enjoyed perhaps the best game of his young career in the loss to Geelong in Hobart with 36 disposals, 25 contested possessions, one goal, nine clearances and 14 score involvements.

“He (Treloar) is definitely All-Australian at the moment, he’s flying,” Russell told SEN Afternoons.

“I’ve called a few of his games and he is flying at the moment and will be an All-Australian.

“There’s a few I reckon locked themselves in for All-Australian on the weekend, and Treloar is definitely one of them.

“Harry Sheezel is another who will definitely be an All-Australian.

“Nick Daicos was always going to be there, but he absolutely locked himself in and I reckon Sheezel and Treloar did as well.

“I was thinking about that this morning, ‘Who locked themselves in as an All-Australian on the weekend?’, and those names came to mind.”

If Sheezel was to make the team, he’ll join Daicos – who also made it two years after playing underage footy and Tim Kelly – a mature-age pick as players to become All-Australians in their second campaign in recent history.
