New Racing Victoria CEO Aaron Morrison has outlined the three things he wants to achieve in his new role within two years.
Speaking on SENTrack’s Giddy Up with Gareth Hall, Morrison addressed three issues in racing he wants solved by this time in 2026.
1. SORTING OUT RACING VICTORIA’S INTERNAL STRUCTURE
“First of all, sorting out the structure of Racing Victoria and our businesses,” Morrison told SENTrack.
“Making sure they’re as efficient as possible.”
2. LOCK DOWN FUNDING MODEL FOR LONG-TERM
“Secondly, we’ve got to lock down our funding model and a sustainable model for the long-term.”
3. BRING RACING BACK INTO THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA
”I would then like to see racing back up there in the mainstream in terms of the narrative within society.
“I think we’ve got to do a better job in elevating the promotion of racing, telling all of our great stories about our participants, heroes of the sport, all of the people that contribute to the industry and the contribution that we make.
“I want to be able to pass the BBQ test where people are proud to say they’re involved in racing again.”
