Melbourne’s Kozzie Pickett looks set for an extended pre-season after his bump on Collingwood’s Darcy Moore promises to see him land in hot water with the Match Review Officer (MRO).

SEN’s Sam Edmund says he’d be shocked to see a sanction of any less than three weeks which would be a huge blow for the Demons and the start of their 2025 campaign.

Edmund says the bump was intentional, high contact and careless – resulting in a minimum of a three-week sanction.

“It’s going to be an even longer break I would suggest for Kozzie Pickett who for the second straight season looks like he’ll be making a late start to the campaign next year,” Edmund told SEN’s Crunch Time.

“As we run it through, clearly he’s gone to bump Darcy Moore in the shoulder but Moore’s centre of gravity has dropped but when you choose to take a course of action like Kozzie Pickett did and we know he’s unlucky in this circumstance.

“But when you have other options at play, first and foremost to go and get the ball and you choose to bump then we know you’re liable.

“He’s liable for the damages he’s caused, once you run it through the matrix it’s careless, we know the concussion is the trigger for severe impact, we know it’s high contact, that’s a three-match sanction . “I’d be shocked if it doesn’t come back as a three-match sanction.”

The Pies won the clash by 46-points in a dominant performance.

Pickett ended up with 15 disposals and two goals.
