Autumn Glow has been ruled out for the rest of the spring.
Trainer Chris Waller confirmed the star filly will head for surgery to remove a minor chip in her right front knee.
Set to run in Saturday’s Flight Stakes, the unbeaten filly has taken the racing world by storm in three starts where she’s remained unbeaten.
"Unfortunately, Autumn Glow was found to be slightly lame this morning in her right front leg," Waller said in a statement.
"An x-ray was taken, which shows a minor chip in her right front knee. She will therefore not take her place tomorrow in the Flight Stakes.
"The chip will be surgically removed, giving her the best possible prognosis for a return in the autumn.
"This is very disappointing for all involved, particularly the horse. She is a very exciting prospect and we are confident that she will make a full recovery."
Reacting to the news, former vet and now broadcaster Gaby Doxey says fans shouldn’t be too concerned as the type of surgery is very common in the thoroughbred industry.
“It’s a shame, but it’s not a big issue,” Doxey told SENTrack's Ladbrokes Spring Breakfast show.
“Knee chips are usually very easily fixed but it’s a very common surgery.”
Autumn Glow was the $1.50 favourite for Saturday’s Flight Stakes.
