Collingwood list boss Justin Leppitsch won’t be a big player on the final day of the 2024 AFL Trade Period.

Leppitsch’s big move came on Tuesday when the club traded in dual All-Australian Dan Houston, with a future first-round pick as well as John Noble (Gold Coast) and Joe Richards (Port Adelaide) departing the club.

While the Pies have been linked to Brisbane’s Deven Robertson, Leppitsch says that they won’t be trading for the midfielder now that the Houston deal was put through.

Leppitsch was also asked about the interest in experienced talls in St Kilda’s Tim Membrey and Melbourne’s Adam Tomlinson, who the club could look at as delisted free agents after the trade period given they’re yet to be offered contracts for 2025 at their current clubs.

On securing Dan Houston in the mega-trade with Port Adelaide and Gold Coast

“I think going into it we knew it was going to be difficult,” Leppitsch told AFL Trade Radio.

“It wasn't as if we were going into thinking, ‘Oh yeah, this is easy, it’s going to get done’.

“We knew we didn't have a lot to play with, we didn't have a first-round pick this season, so we were starting from a little bit back as from an equity point of view.

“To get it done was awesome and we're just so happy to have him.”

On the club’s interest in Brisbane’s Deven Robertson

“We're not into Deven. We're out of the trade space now.

“We won't be trading for anybody else for the rest of the trade period.”

On St Kilda forward Tim Membrey

“It’s a possibility, we’re talking with Tim now.

“We’re going to take him through a medical and those sorts of things.

“But we do have a spot for some experience on our list and he’s in the conversation for that.”

On Melbourne defender Adam Tomlinson

“He’s in that mix because we want some experience in that final (list) position.

“We’ll meet on that tomorrow and make some decisions with which way we want to go on that.”
