A 16-year-old has been handed a two-year stadium ban an incident involving Aliir Aliir at the SCG during the Swans clash with Port Adelaide.
The Power defender claimed the football in the defensive goal line, and as his momentum took him towards the fence, a young Sydney Swans fans threw an object towards him.
Aliir was not hit by the object, proceeding to call it out as it happened before the venue staff removed the patron involved.
The fan has been banned from attending events at the SCG for two years, alongside a warning from NSW police, according to Seven's Mitch Cleary.
The Sydney Swans released this statement last night:
“A fan was removed from the stadium in the final quarter of Sunday's match against Port Adelaide at the SCG, after throwing an object at Port Adelaide player Aliir Aliir.
“The fan was removed from the venue and has been interviewed by police and SCG staff.
“The club is working to ascertain if the fan is a member.
“The club has reached out to Aliir, and we will continue to educate fans that any form of abusive behaviour is not welcome.
“The Sydney Swans would like to reiterate our zero-tolerance stance on all forms of abuse.”
"Calm your farm": King calls for cool on Aliir incident
Although the incident will be stamped out by the AFL, David King believes it was a simple mistake that should be glanced over lightly.
“We have just got to cool the jets on this,” King said.
“This is a young kid who made a mistake, that has not affected anyone greatly.
“We don’t want this to happen, the Swans put out a really strong press release.
“There was nothing really dangerous at any point with this. Let’s just chill.
“This is a young man who has made a small mistake, calm your farm.”
