Carlton football boss Brad Lloyd has described the graffiti at Ikon Park as toxic behaviour that "helps no one" as pressure mounts on besieged coach Michael Voss.
The words “Sack the board”, “Keep Voss”, “TDK yes or no” and “Sack Austin, Lloyd” were emblazoned by vandals on the brick walls at the headquarters of the Blues after Thursday night’s disappointing 50-point loss to Port Adelaide.
“There’s behaviours that can work towards getting better outcomes for the club and there are probably toxic behaviours as well that don’t help anyone," Lloyd said after landing back in Melbourne with most of the team on Friday.
"That’s not behaviour I’d support.”
Police have launched an investigation into the vandalism.
Meanwhile, Lloyd said he was unable to answer with any certainty when asked if he and Voss would retain their roles at the club beyond this season.
“I’m unsure of that,” he said.
“We will just stick at it and keep going to work. It’s for others to judge. We have been going at it for a little while now and we have had some good times and some down times like we are now.
“Graham Wright coming in, Brian Cook is one of the best CEOs of all time and I think the board has been very settled, very stable. I couldn’t speak more highly of them. That (graffiti) certainly wouldn’t be my views, they have been very stable and good for the club.”
The Blues, who many felt would challenge for the premiership in 2025, have fallen to 11th on the ladder with a 6-9 win-loss record.
Kane Cornes had a message for the vandals who seemingly had no regard for the CCTV at Ikon Park.
“To the idiots that have vandalised Carlton HQ - disgraceful, geez that’s a poor look,” Cornes said on SEN’s Fireball.
“Cameras don’t seem to be a deterrent anymore. It’s like the vandals that are breaking into people’s homes and not worrying about the security vision at all.”
