Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) has confirmed the planned initial program changes for RSN, following the announcement last week that Sports Entertainment Group (SEG, operating as SEN) has reached agreement to acquire the brand, audio and digital broadcasting assets of Racing & Sports Network (RSN), with planned changes to take effect from September 1, subject to completion of the sale.

SEN confirms that its existing breakfast shows – ‘Fireball’ with Kane Cornes and David King on Mondays and Fridays, and SEN Breakfast with Garry Lyon and Tim Watson from Tuesdays to Thursdays – will now be heard also on RSN. The breakfast shows will feature a Victorian racing presence as is familiar to RSN listeners, particularly around key news, races and events.

At the earlier time of 8am, Gareth Hall also returns to RSN with his much-loved daily show ‘Giddy Up’ to be heard across the RSN airwaves and simulcast on SENTrack.

Giddy Up with Gareth Hall will run from 8am to 12pm, continuing to deliver in-depth racing coverage, market moves and expert tips. The opening hour will focus on Victorian racing with in-depth previews, participant interviews and news set to feature.

The Thursday and Friday shows will also be streamed live via racing.com, expanding accessibility for fans across digital platforms. All Giddy Up shows will also be streamed on the SEN app thanks to bet365.

All afternoon raceday programming will remain in place and familiar to RSN listeners, including trainer interviews, mounting yard previews and live race broadcasts, ensuring continuity and quality in racing coverage.

SEN CEO, Craig Hutchison, also confirmed that RSN and SENTrack would have different race day coverages each day, allowing fans to consume racing content very differently and through a totally different lens.

“We’re thrilled to bring a fresh energy to RSN 927 while respecting the legacy and loyalty of its audience. Our new line-up blends trusted racing voices with SEN’s dynamic sports programming, creating a compelling offering for fans across the state. We’re especially excited to expand Gareth Hall’s Giddy Up reach via RSN and racing.com, ensuring racing remains front and centre every morning.”

Further details and programming updates will be shared in the lead up.
