Collingwood’s Beau McCreery is set to be sidelined for the next few weeks.
The Magpies have confirmed that the 2023 premiership player has suffered another hamstring injury and will miss up to three weeks.
The 24-year-old pressure forward sustained a mild hamstring strain in the Round 15 win over St Kilda and subsequently missed the following three games.
McCreery returned in Sunday’s one-point loss to Fremantle, laying a remarkable 15 tackles and picking up 15 disposals in a more advanced midfield role.
But he reported hamstring soreness after the game which has since been diagnosed as a strain.
"Beau McCreery reported hamstring awareness following the game against Fremantle on Sunday," Collingwood’s Head of High Performance Jarrod Wade said.
"Scans have confirmed that McCreery has sustained a minor hamstring strain. McCreery is expected to miss two to three weeks."
Wade provided an update on a number of injured Magpies, including Jordan De Goey (concussion protocols) who will be assessed ahead of Sunday's clash with Richmond at the MCG.
Defender Billy Frampton is available after a calf injury while Dan Houston (abdominal strain) will also be assessed this week.
