The Sharks 2026 season has copped a huge hit with confirmation winger Ronaldo Mulitalo has ruptured his ACL while on international duty.
A statement on the club's website said: "The Sharks can confirm winger Ronaldo Mulitalo requires surgery after rupturing his ACL while representing New Zealand against Samoa in the Pacific Championships on Sunday.
"Mulitalo will undergo surgery within the next week before beginning an extended recovery period. However, he will work with Sharks medical staff in an effort to return to the field at some point during the 2026 NRL season."
The 25-year-old had another strong season for Cronulla with 17 tries from 26 games; his best output to date.
Mulitalo has been a mainstsay of the Sharks side since his debut in 2019 and has appeared in their last four finals campaigns.
The Sharks are well stocked in the winger position with 23-year-old Samuel Stonestreet the likely replacement for the injured Mulitalo. After five matches in his debut season, Stonestreet enjoyed a healthy run of games in 2025 with 11 appearances and eight tries.
More to come.
