The Sydney Roosters have secured a major coup with Dally M medallist James Tedesco signing a one-year extension.

Initially contracted until the end of 2026, Tedesco will now stay with the Tricolours until the end of 2027.

The extension means the 2025 Dally M winner will likely finish his career at the Sydney Roosters.

The Roosters’ fullback currently sits third all-time among most games as captain for the Sydney Roosters and is showing no signs of slowing down after a standout 2025 season.

Tedesco said he was excited to be continuing his time at the Roosters.

“I’m incredibly proud to represent this Club and to continue leading a group of players who mean so much to me,” Tedesco said.

“The Roosters have played a huge role in my career and my life. Working with (Trent Robinson) has pushed me to become a better player and person, and I’m grateful for the belief he’s always shown in me.

“I know we have a lot more to achieve together, and I’m excited for what’s still to come with this group. I’m committed to doing everything I can to help us get there.”

Tedesco scored 11 tries in 2025 on his way to a second Dally M medal.
