The Perth Scorchers have opened BBL|15 with a bang, taking care of the Sydney Sixers by five wickets in a rain delayed clash at Optus Stadium.
Pushed back by over an hour due to the Perth conditions, the contest was limited to just 11 overs, with the Sixers making 113 behind Jack Edwards’ 46*. Prized recruit Babar Azam opened the batting, falling for just two runs off five balls.
Coming down to the final over, the Scorchers would complete the chase with five balls remaining, anchored by young all-rounder Cooper Connolly’s 59 off 31 balls.
