Ninja has established himself as the top selection to win the $3 million Magic Millions 3YO Guineas (1400m), bolting into $1.90 favouritism with Sportsbet.
The Michael Freedman-trained gelding now has three wins from five starts, most recently winning the Magic Millions Vo Rogue Plate (1300m) on Saturday by a whopping 4.79 lengths.
Tommy Berry rode the son of Farnan for the first time on the weekend and was hugely impressed by the bay, believing that he will relish the 1400m of the Restricted Listed race.
“From the 400m to the 200m, he gave me an unbelievable feel,” Berry told SENTrack & RSN’s Giddy Up.
“We didn't do much with him in the last 100m, but he's got a lot of improvement there.
“He was four weeks between runs and up to the 1300m, so he looks like he'll relish 1400m, and he might even get further now.
“Since he's been gelded last preparation, he obviously learnt a lot, and every time he steps out, he just seems to be doing things better - he's relaxing better, and he's starting to learn new traits.
“The sky's the limit at the moment with him.”
When asked about where Ninja rates compared to all the other horses which Berry has ridden, the hoop admitted that the gelding is well above average.
“I don't want to get too carried away with him, but I think he’s definitely well above average, and the times back that up,” Berry revealed.
“I think they said he was 0.7 (seconds) outside of the track record. So, the times backed up his performance.
“I really think he'll come into his own when he gets a mile as well.
“He's going to be hard to beat in any race he contests.”
Tommy Berry will ride Ninja in the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas on January 17.
