Put together a solid effort last start in a genuinely fast-run race, sticking on well to finish within 1.6 lengths despite the pressure throughout. He’s at his most effective when able to control proceedings up front, and this setup looks ideal.

With limited genuine speed engaged and only Accredited likely to apply any early pressure, Whinchat should be able to roll to the front comfortably over the 1350m. If allowed to dictate, he can produce his peak figure, which stacks up strongly in this grade and makes him very hard to beat.

Race 10, No.9 - CROSS TASMAN

Arrives in outstanding form having strung together back-to-back wins, culminating in a clear career-high performance rating at Randwick last time out.

The wide draw isn’t ideal, but from this starting point it isn't a deal-breaker, particularly given his current form and ability to land forward of midfield in the run if need be.
