Australia's most successful Winter Olympian doubles gold tally

Australia has officially equalled their highest medal tally at a Winter Olympics in the 2026 Games, with Jakara Anthony claiming the fourth medal of the games with a gold in the women’s dual moguls.

Unable to defend her Olympic crown from Beijing after finishing eighth in the moguls Super Final on Thursday, Anthony came out victorious in the duals - the first time that the event has been run at the Winter Olympics.

With her incredible speed down the hill, her opponents were behind from the get-go, with South African Malica Malherbe (her 1/16 final opponent) crashing, resulting in DNF.

Anthony continued her form through the 1/8 finals and the quarter finals, having finished ahead of her opponents, helping her win the overall score (based on speed, turns and air).

She then cruised through the Big Final with her semi-final opponent, American Elizabeth Lemley also crashing resulting in a DNF.

And in the Big Final against America’s Jaelin Kauf, she took the lead with the final jump to finish ahead, helping her to a 20-15 win.  

She becomes the first Australian to have won multiple gold medals at the Winter Olympics.

There were two other Australians in the event, Emma Bosco and Charlotte Wilson.

Both would face one another in the 1/16 finals, with Bosco going through to the 1/8 finals before being knocked out by the silver medallist in Kauf.

Australia’s medal tally sits at three gold medals and one silver with an overall of four.
