MELBOURNE list boss Tim Lamb has knocked back a strong approach from Adelaide to stay with the Demons.
The Crows recently mounted a concerted effort to prize Lamb out of the Dees as they look to replace long-time list manager Justin Reid, who last month departed for the AFL.
But Lamb has recommitted to Melbourne, the club he joined from the police force back in 2012. The former investigator, along with national recruiting manager Jason Taylor, was a primary architect of the Demons’ 2021 premiership-winning list.
Adelaide is scouring the industry for a replacement for Reid, who left after 12 years to head up the league’s football performance and list management division.
Former Essendon chief executive and ex-West Coast list manager Craig Vozzo would be an obvious candidate having moved back to Adelaide for family reasons.
Vozzo last month agreed to work in a list and recruitment consultancy role for the Bombers. It is also unclear if he would be willing to go back into the role full time.
Kym Dillon last month told SENSA’s The Run Home that Vozzo was spotted at an Adelaide café with Crows CEO Tim Silvers.
But Lamb is definitely staying put at Melbourne, who have a fresh vibrancy under new coach Steven King.
The Demons this year hold two first round draft picks to add to their growing assembly of young talent.
The club also remain active players in the free agency market having freed up salary cap space in farewelling Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Steven May.
