Double trouble: Knights sweat as Ponga and Brown subbed out with injury

In only his second NRL match after Lisfranc fracture, there are now concerns that Kalyn Ponga could be once again sidelined with yet another injury.

After a scoring a try in the Knights' Round 2 clash against the Sea-Eagles, the star fullback could be seen grabbing towards his right hamstring.

The injury was severe enough that Ponga would be off the ground and would head up the tunnel and back into the change rooms.

The 27-year-old would be replaced by Fletcher Hunt with the Queensland representative set to undergo scans to confirm the extent of the damage.

The star fullback will be sent for scans and won’t return in the Round 2 clash.

The Knights’ would score twice more without Ponga, but lost Dylan Brown again in the act of scoring, with the Knights’ million-dollar man suffering an MCL injury in a Tom Trbojevic-tackle.

It means the Knights are facing weeks on the sideline without Brown and Ponga, with Fletcher Hunt and Phoenix Crossland taking the fullback and halfback roles respectively for the rest of the game.

More to come.
