Wondering when your club will win its next premiership?
AI has you covered.
West Coast premiership coach Adam Simpson has asked AI when each club is most likely to win its next premiership, with the database spitting out a likely range for all 18 AFL teams.
With six clubs all within their premiership window and two clubs potentially a decade away, the suggestions were rather kind.
“I asked AI, ‘When is my team going to win a flag? How long before we win a flag?’,” Simpson told SEN Whateley.
“It’s gone through every club and some of it is pretty kind.
“It’s got Gold Coast, Brisbane, Bulldogs, Sydney, Hawthorn and Fremantle - in the next two years there’s a premiership there for those clubs. They’re in the now.
“Geelong and Adelaide are one to three years away.
“Collingwood and GWS are two to four. St Kilda three to five years.
“Port Adelaide, Carlton and Melbourne are three to six years.
“North Melbourne is five to eight years. Would North supporters cop a flag in five years?
“West Coast also five to eight years. I think they’d take that. I remember when I first got the job, they said, ‘No pressure but we play finals 71 per cent of the time, and we win a flag every 12 years’. Ok, thanks for that.
“Essendon and Richmond are six to 10 years. Would you take the 10?”
Whateley: “Essendon would take any promise of a future. Richmond is still a long-term (prospect).
“Your point about West Coast - I wonder if you’d asked AI last week versus this week.”
