Greg Alexander has praised the New Zealand Warriors and Tanah Boyd following their 28-20 win against the Gold Coast Titans.

The Warriors have started 2026 on a high, having won five of their first seven games of the season.

One of the reasons behind their scintillating form has been Boyd.

Having started this season as the side's halfback following Luke Metcalf's ACL injury last year, the 25-year-old has managed nine try assists (third-best in the competition) with career high averages in both run (69) and kicking metres (550) as the Warriors sit in second place.

Reflecting on their win, the inaugural Warriors player was impressed by New Zealand's clinical approach, with a focus on Boyd.

“They were outstanding, the Warriors,” Alexander said on SEN’s Kick Off.

“They are so clinical and the execution of the passing, it was fantastic.

“Like the ball movement and the execution, which is the difference between side scoring tries inside that 20-metre zone, especially inside the ten.

“When you're inside the ten and you're going left or right, if your passing isn't crisp and to the point, you don't score a try, and the Warriors got it right.

“And I'm gonna say Tanah Boyd looked like the best halfback again, like in the game.

“At periods, he was everywhere. Tanah Boyd looked great.”

Jimmy Smith was equally impressed with their showing.

"They are the real deal, aren't they?" he added.

The Warriors will next feature on ANZAC Day when they host the Dolphins in Wellington.

Kick-off takes place at 6:05pm AEST.
