Having now won their last four games, are the Dolphins set to become the competition's next powerhouse?

Well, in the eyes of Matty Johns, he believes it's only a matter of time before they do.

It was a rough start for the Dolphins, who only won two of their first seven games after plenty of pre-season hype suggesting they could crack finals for the first time in the club's existence in the NRL.

But since Round 8, the Dolphins have looked a different side, having not lost a match since.

Having now risen to seventh thanks to their 30-22 win against the Raiders on Thursday night, Johns believes Kristian Woolf’s men are on the precipice of taking over the competition.

“What a big win for the Dolphins,” Johns told SEN’s Morning Glory with Matty Johns.

“Beating Canberra in Canberra, even during Origin time, it's a big result.

“This young team, led by this playmaker who's a young man who plays like a veteran playmaker, Isaiya Katoa.

“This team, I think is on the cusp of dominating, like, a really dominant era.

“It's just a matter of time.”

This view would be shared by Denan Kemp, believing they have learnt from their poor start to the season.

“They've learnt to win,” Kemp added.

“It sounds like such a silly thing to say, but they go out there each week now going, ‘We can win this game from any position, and we can dominate other sides physically’.

“I think at the start of the year, you saw moments where they kind of doubted themselves a little bit.

“(They) weren't cognisant of how strong their team is on paper.

“This Dolphins side, they're big, they're physical, they're skillful, they're fast, they have all the attributes.

“I felt like they started the year they played a bit of dumb footy.

“A lot of errors, too physical, like they'd get head highs away.

“I think they've found the balance, got their timing. They just look so good to watch at the moment.

The Dolphins now enter the bye for Round 13.

Their next clash isn’t until June 6 when they take on the Cowboys in Queensland Country Bank Stadium.
