With Moses Leota being allowed to test the open market, Michael Carayannis has run through the clubs that could sign him.

On Monday, it was confirmed by Panthers CEO Matt Cameron that Leota, who comes out of contract in 2027, can speak with rival clubs ahead of November 1.

With the 30-year-old now listening to what other clubs can offer, contenders for his signature have emerged, with the Panthers facing a salary cap crunch to retain their stars.

One of those contenders is Penrith's rivals, the Parramatta Eels, who have been keen to sign an experienced forward after several attempts.

Kick off with Brandy and Jimmy Yarn Banner

“We know Parramatta have been in for middles,” Carayannis told SEN’s Kick Off.

“We know Parramatta have been linked to Spencer Leniu, Moses's old teammate.

“We know that they missed out on Mitch Barnett and Keaon Koloamatangi. So that's definitely one.

“They've got their own (player in) Junior Paulo, who they're talking about a one-year deal.

“Whether or not the age turns them off a little bit, given they've got Junior at that stage of his career as well.”

But other clubs would benefit from his services, such as partnering with his teammate Scott Sorenson at the Perth Bears or becoming the next star to sign with the Dragons.

“I think the Bears are a natural fit, right?” he continued.

“You look at the Dragons forward pack, and you go, what are they missing?

“They've got Keaon coming next year, who's that alpha male, but another forward leader is probably what they're missing. “PNG will obviously lurk in for another 12 months.

“Newcastle, (I) just don't think they'd have the cap space. It's gonna come down to cap space, especially with this time of the season, right?”

“I don't know if many clubs for next year will have space.”

Leota will suit up for the Panthers' take on the Rabbitohs on Friday night at CommBank Stadium. Kick-off is at 8pm AEST.
