Corey Parker has backed the Dolphins to return to form off the back of their record-breaking defeat on Saturday.

In the Battle of the Fins, a depleted Dolphins side without four of their Origin representatives and Isaiya Katoa came out heavily bruised, losing 66-0 to Cronulla in their biggest defeat since joining the NRL in 2023.

That defeat also marks their second loss in a row after winning eight straight, which has seen them dip from third into seventh.

While their chances of a maiden finals appearance have taken a slight hit, the Broncos legend is still confident that Kristian Woolf’s men can finish in the top half of the ladder.

“Well, the thing for them is they won eight in a row there,” Parker explained on SENQ Breakfast.

“So, they were travelling very good and it was off the back of their last big spanking at Kayo (Stadium) when the Sea Eagles gave them a touch-up.

“They'll reset; they've got a great side.

“I remember we got beaten by Canberra (56-0) one day, down there in the cold, and you gotta address it, but you don't dwell on it because it’s out of character, right?

“66-nil is an embarrassment, and they've said that; all they can do is apologise but, they'll be up and going.”

The Dolphins will look to break their losing streak against North Queensland on Sunday when they return to Suncorp Stadium for the first time this month.

Kick-off takes place at 4:05pm AEST.
