Dates for 2027 Ashes released

The England and Wales Cricket Board has announced next year’s Ashes schedule.

The ECB also confirmed the World Test Championship final has been moved from Lord’s to The Oval.

Pending Australia’s involvement in the final from June 9-13, there is a warm-up match scheduled for the tourists June 7-10 against England Lions at Old Trafford in Manchester.

The Ashes will be played across a six-and-a-bit week block, culminating in the fifth Test at the Oval.

This will be Australia’s last stop on a marathon, 11-month, run of as many as 21 Tests which could help define the legacies of ageing icons Steve Smith, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon.

Australia hasn’t won an Ashes series abroad since 2001, though England last held the coveted trophy following their 2015 triumph.

2027 Ashes Fixture:
June 18-22: Trent Bridge, Nottingham
June 30-July 4: Lord’s, London
July 8-12: Edgbaston, Birmingham
July 21-25: Utilita Bowl, Southampton
July 29-Aug 2: The Oval, London

The Women's Ashes schedule has also been released by the ECB and is as follows:

June 24-27: Test, Headingley, Leeds July 3: IT20, Trent Bridge, Nottingham July 6: IT20, Kia Oval, London July 9: IT20, Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground, Manchester July 13: ODI, Utilita Bowl, Southampton July 16: ODI, Lord’s, London July 20: ODI, Edgbaston, Birmingham
