Voss: Why Cronulla is the real deal

With Cronulla managing to put together a strong run of performances to become the in-form team of the competition, Andrew Voss has given the Sharks their flowers.

Since Magic Round, the Sharkies have won eight of their last nine matches, seeing them jump into the top four with Craig Fitzgibbon’s men looking set for a fifth straight finals appearance.

In this run, Cronulla has claimed some big victories, including their 66-0 drubbing of the Dolphins in Round 19 alongside their recent 48-12 win against the Sea Eagles on Sunday.

And with their spine of Will Kennedy, Brayden Trindall, Nicho Hynes and Blayke Brailey all humming, Voss only had one conclusion when reflecting on their current form.

“They are the real deal, Cronulla,” he declared on SEN’s Front Office with Vossy.

“Now I know Manly well down, but it was the way Cronulla went about their business.

“Debate with me if you will, but I'm saying Will Kennedy is playing career-best football.

 “He may have played the equal but never better.

“Brayden Trindall without doubt is playing career-best football.

"Nicho Hynes yesterday, I'm gonna call it a career-best game. So now Hynes is finding the equal of his very best.

“(Blayke) Brailey is at the peak of his powers, career best football, and then all the other elements.

“Two wingers who can finish off (Sione) Katoa (and Ronaldo) Mulitalo, two centres, KL Iro and (Jesse) Ramien, who will happily have 20 runs each a game and bust 20 tackles, through to a forward pack that has depth.

“Yesterday their bench, Addin Fonua-Blake coming off the bench, outstanding best game he's had all year, Billy Burns and others.

“So, they have got it sorted, Cronulla (they are) a real threat.”

The Sharks will look to solidify their top four credentials when they host the Rabbitohs at Ocean Protect Stadium this Sunday.
