"Major positive": Mick Gannon's Saturday best at Randwick (22/08)

Leading form analyst Mick Gannon from TheGreatTipOff and SENTrack & RSN has provided his best bets for Saturday's racing.

Gannon has taken a close look at Randwick.

Race 4, No.1 - King Of The Sea looks well placed to make his mark this preparation. He’s a quality horse who gets a significant jockey change and has the ability to race at a Listed level or better.

His form around 2000m-2100m last preparation was strong, including a close second in a Randwick BM88, while two solid trials suggest he has returned in good order.

The mile is a slight query from a mapping perspective, but the long run from the start should give him enough time to find a comfortable position. With a top jockey taking the reins, he looks capable of making the most of this opportunity.

Race 10, No.7 - Call Me Gorgeous looks suited to what he finds second-up. He was doing his best work late first-up over an unsuitable 1000m, settling around 7.5 lengths from the lead before closing strongly through the straight.

He steps up in distance but drops significantly in grade, which looks a major positive. With natural improvement from that first-up run and the extra 200m to help, he should be right in the finish if he can reproduce that effort.
