Vexxy caught the eye last start, settling near the rear before producing a strong finish into fourth. She recorded the fastest closing sectionals of the race despite racing in the inferior ground out wide, suggesting the run was better than the result indicated.

She gets a favourable barrier change this time, moving from a wide draw into a low gate, while the step up in distance should also help her settle closer. With genuine speed likely from runners drawn outside her, she can find a midfield position with cover before launching late. At around $15, she appeals as a runner with plenty of upside at the odds.

Randwick R7 #7 Idle Flyer

Idle Flyer brings an outstanding second-up record to this race, having won all four of her previous starts when returning from a first-up run. That statistic is hard to overlook, particularly given the conditions she faces here.

She drops in grade, carries 1kg less and gets Zac Lloyd back aboard, with the jockey.
