Expert form analyst Mark Hunter has taken a look at the Group 1 Moir Stakes (1000m) at Sandown Hillside on Saturday.

He has analysed every horse in the race, runner by runner, and believes he has found us the winner!

Moir Stakes

Hunter is with the fan favourite and proven winner Giga Kick here, especially if the rain comes.

“I'm going to tip Giga Kick,” Hunter told SENTrack & RSN’s Giddy Up.

“I would like some rain to fall, and I think just 1000m is the query, but in the Lightning Stakes, he was just ridden way too close in that race, which is not his go.

“Then went to the Challenge second-up, probably with the edge off him where he only got going late and rattled home.

“He’s fresh, I think he's got the perfect rider. Mark (Zahra) will know the horse inside out, he'll ride him quietly and he'll just creep up behind them.

“He's a horse that only needs a gap to appear with 100m to go, and he'll just burst through and explode.

“His trials have been terrific. He'll love the wet track if it comes.

“But it may be a day where you've got to stay in rather than come out into where the ground is worn, so he will need luck in the straight.”

Hunter also provided a YES or NO rating for each horse in the Group 1.
