North Melbourne has officially named their selection panel to find its next coach.

After finishing 14th on the ladder, having won nine games in 2026, the Kangaroos decided to part ways with their coach of four years, Alastair Clarkson, last week, creating a vacancy.

The club came to the decision during the off-season, believing they needed a coach for the modern game.

The six-member panel will be chaired by North Melbourne CEO Jennifer Watt, with fellow members being GM of Football Todd Viney, Club Director and former Kangaroos captain Andrew Swallow, AFLW head coach and 1996 Premiership winner with North Melbourne Darren Crocker, club Vice President Nick Dowling and recently retired Magpie Steele Sidebottom.

This will mark North Melbourne’s seventh permanent head coach since the start of the 21st Century.
