Brownlow live: Daicos backed to "smash all records"

Brisbane Lions veteran Dayne Zorko insists there is no chance Nick Daicos does not win the Brownlow tonight adding that the Collingwood super star should “shatter all records”.

The 23-year-old is the $1.01 favourite for tonight’s award – the shortest price in history – but the Brownlow has been something of a poisoned chalice for Daicos who finished as runner-up to Matt Rowell just 12 months ago and second behind Patrick Cripps in 2024.

After another incredible season, Daicos is almost unbackable tonight with Zorko on the bandwagon of those expecting him to smash the 50-vote mark.

“He will win by 25 votes,” Zorko told SENQ Breakfast. “I'm tipping he's gonna get north of 50.

“I hope he absolutely shatters the record, he's a phenomenal player, he should have two Brownlows already.

“He was injured a couple of years ago and lost by a couple of votes.

“He lost to Patrick Cripps, I think, by a ridiculous count a couple of years back, which he shouldn't have lost.

“He'll go home tonight with the Chaz and thoroughly deserved. He's been the best player in our competition for a number of years now, already at such a young age, and, I hope he shatters all sorts of records tonight.”
